RF Shielding Protection System Overview
Electromagnetic shielding that blocks radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic radiation is also known as RF shielding. The shielding can reduce the coupling of radio waves, electromagnetic fields, and electrostatic fields. A conductive enclosure used to block electrostatic fields is also known as a Faraday cage.
RF spectrum in the range of MRI Radio frequency (RF) shielding of an MR scanner is mandatory and serves two functions: to prevent extraneous electromagnetic radiation from contaminating/distorting the MR signal, and to prevent electromagnetic radiation generated by the MR scanner from causing interference in nearby medical devices.
